申请美国B1/B2签证过程分享

2023年3月首次申请美国B1/B2签证，在线提交，之后收到邮件确认面试的时间是2024年11月，地点卡尔加里。
2023年10月收到邮件，称面试时间可以提前到2024年1月底2月初，选了2月2日周五。在面试前几天再收到邮件，要求照片必须是半年内带时间盖章的，只好重新照了一次。
2月2日10点10分左右到达领事馆（面试时间是10:45）。幸亏提前到达，接下来的检查证件/表格/安检加排队等面试大概花了半小时左右。安检非常严格，老婆带了一个巴掌大的小包，里面的微型指甲刀、眉毛钳、几只小指粗的化妆品事先忘了拿出来，结果全被当垃圾扔掉了。手机要求关机，和钱包、手表、遥控车钥匙一起存放。在安检的时候还按了指纹。在一楼通完成检查证件和申请表、安检之后就排队跟着保安乘电梯到9楼正式办公的地方。办公大厅和外面的等待室都很小，分批进入大厅。进入大厅之后，先到一个窗口再次核验证件和申请表格，只问了去没去过美国。然后又转到下一个窗口，也就是面试窗口，站在窗外隔着玻璃和签证官交谈，面试结束后提交了护照。记得问了这么几个问题：1，去没去过美国，2，在加拿大多少年了，3，住在什么地方，4，什么工作，5，大学学了什么专业，6，夫妻关系，7，想去美国什么地方，8，小孩是加籍吗。签证官是个很年轻的小伙子，态度很好，整个过程一直面带笑容，准备好的各种证明材料一点都没看，最后直接告诉我们approved了，等护照寄到家。全部面试过程可能不到10分钟。
2月5日周一查状态，变成了“Issued”.
2月6日收到快递送来的护照，done!

感谢楼主的经验，我来提供一个最新的dp。双护照在多伦多申请B1/B2续签。原先的美签也是B1/B2, 还有一年有效期。申请的时候如实提交了加拿大护照作为在加拿大合法身份证明。金融行业工作，数学专业master。没有被要求面签。
1月29号 签收
1月30号 approved
2月1号 issued
2月3号护照寄出

美签上没有注明Canadian PR， 也没有注明Canadian Citizen

感谢楼主的经验，我来提供一个最新的dp。双护照在多伦多申请B1/B2续签。原先的美签也是B1/B2, 还有一年有效期。申请的时候如实提交了加拿大护照作为在加拿大合法身份证明。金融行业工作，数学专业master。没有被要求面签。

2月3号护照寄出

3月份提交了DS-160表格，到现在也没动静。本人红本，2013年获得十年美签，2024年刚刚过期，但未超过6个月。请教下一步如何操作？不是应该付款，等着邮寄护照的通知吗？但是现在没有任何信息。

c. Complete the courier document return process
d. Pay the Nonimmigrant Visa (MRV) application fee(s)
e. Schedule and attend your ASC appointment, if applicable, and the Consular Section interview
Please note that applicants of a certain age group or those who are renewing a previous U.S. visa may be eligible to apply for a visa without attending a Consular interview. Eligibility for the ‘Interview Waiver’ will be determined as applicants go through the process of scheduling an appointment. The determination will be made based on the answers provided to the qualifying criteria.
